"easy day!"

4.jpg

Hey! My name is Chris and my experience in the military has equipped me to train people to overcome mindsets, habits and obstacles that prevent them from succeeding! I love watching anime and playing video games in my spare time. PLUS ULTRA!!

My military background has uniquely equipped me to assist people and my own litany of personal injuries have pushed me to begin specializing in the Physical Therapy side of training. I love being able to heal people and, of equal importance: teach them to stay healthy. My job is to not only help you but to equip you!

It's not enough to help someone grow while they are with me, I want to give them the knowledge and skills to continue growing long after our time together!

NADINE L.

Where do you even start with someone who has had such a profound impact on your life?

When I came to the gym in July of 2021 it was to pass the time while my partner was deployed. The first time he deployed he spent a lot of time in the gym. He came home ripped where I had put on weight while he was gone. I was determined to have a different story when he came home this time.

Fast forward to October 2021 I signed up for GYFT. While I joined for a challenge, I left with a family. GYFT gave me a community to belong to. Each of the trainer classes were super helpful. There were a core group of us that would have streaks of 7+ days. While we all later learned the importance of rest, it was the family I needed while my loved one was away.

GYFT was my first real exposure to Haddock. I remember the first class of his I went to. I was paired up with one of his clients and she was able to cue me in some of the lifts in a way I hadn’t heard before. I appreciated her ability to help me learn and be better at lifting. This is what gave me my first taste of wanting to partner with him on my fitness journey.

The second time I knew I needed to work with him was when I got injured. In some of those 7+ day stretches I ended up hurting my shoulder pretty intensely. I had been in a car accident a couple years prior and the strain on my shoulder got to be a bit much.

There was a class of his that I was in where I dropped a dumbbell. It was then I learned just how much Haddock cares for others. He stopped right then and there to make sure I was okay and to provide me with the necessary stretching to work my shoulder. It was a rough few weeks but his willingness to give my shoulder the attention and give me the support I needed was super helpful.

Once GYFT ended I decided to begin training with him.

This was one of the best decisions I made.

I think what was most important to me at that time was he laid out the expectations. He told me what he required of his clients and how he takes things seriously because he genuinely cares about the well being of others.

Once I began training with him a lot of changes started occurring. I was learning how to lift, and I was learning how to do it in such a way that I would get the most out of it.

It wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows though. I am one stubborn woman. There are times were it is hard to get through to me and I also a have some unique learning styles as well.

The reason I choose to share this part though is that Chris stuck with me. There were times were we butted heads. Nutrition was almost a curse word in my vocabulary. For a long long time I was very stubborn in this area. It wasn’t always intentional but I was struggling to know how to tackle it that worked best for me.

Chris and I would try something new, I would stick with the program for a week or two, and then something would come up that would derail me. There were a lot of tears and a lot of hard conversations. The tears at times were out of frustration. Not with Chris, but with my ability to follow through on the things we had agreed upon.

I think my favorite part about my journey with Chris is he never gave up on me, and he never allowed me to give up on myself. He had a knack for knowing how best to support me. Sometimes it was holding me accountable in a very strict way, other times it was using the hour we had together to talk about life and process things.

I truly believe that Chris cares about all aspects of health and well being. There have been a lot of good conversations about life and adversity. His ability to read people is uncanny, but because he could read me so well it was easier to let my guard down and let someone actually help me.

Another aspect about training with Chris that is the best is his ability to make you laugh. I’ll spare you some of the more vulgar jokes but next time you see him you should ask him to count in his Count Dracula Sesame street voice. That or ask him to count in Spanish, some interesting voices come out then too.

At the end of the day, “Easy Day” is the motto that Chris instills in each of his clients. Is every workout with him Easy? Oh gosh no. But every workout with him is another day we are above ground and can improve!

There has a lot that has transpired in my two years of training with Chris. Chris has been around for a few different seasons of my life. When I had to step away from training for a little while he was still there for my monthly Check ins and to hold me accountable to not “gain it all back” I can proudly say that I have kept off a decent amount of what I lost even when I had to take a break to focus on other key areas of my life.

The tools and the knowledge I have gained from Chris I have been able to apply to other areas of my life. He is always learning and growing and inspiring his team to do the same. He takes his work very seriously. He strives to ensure that what he is teaching on is relevant and beneficial for his clients. He has a knack for using what works well for one client and sharing it with other clients to see if it’s a good fit for them as well.

In this season of my life I am excited to be working out on my own and attending his Saturday GYFT classes. Through his coaching and training I am much more confident using the equipment in the gym and do the other things to take proper care of my body.

For me, now that the gym isn’t so intimidating and I feel confident in what I am doing; I feel equipped to tackle the next pillar of well-being which is nutrition. He has instilled in my just how important this pillar really is.

I’ll end with this, wether you choose to train with Chris, or you just choose to attend his GYFT classes, you’ll walk away knowing so much more than when you first started.

Thank you Chris for always learning and growing. For adapting to the changing needs of your clients and for truly being there for people. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the friendship I have with you.

Also, thank you to NWFITCO for the GYFT program. You have provided an incredible platform for people to learn and change and become overall more healthy people. Each of their trainers brings a flare to the classes and seminars and it helps us develop all areas of fitness and wellbeing.

When I met Chris, I was at my lowest point both mentally and physically. After 7 months, I had given up on both my psychiatrist and ever feeling better again. I was suffering from depression, an identity crisis, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, and a lot of things in between. I was at a point where I was begging for relief: an option where I would be free from all of the suffering that I was going through. I was beginning to feel like it wasn’t worth coming up for air again. I only had enough in me to stand up one more time. It was now or never.

At our first session, I explained to Chris that in addition to my obesity, I also had an ACL surgery which I was still trying to recover from, plus Plantar Fasciitis and Severe Shin Splints that were preventing me from being able to exercise. When I asked him if it was even possible for me to lose any weight with all these limitations, he said, “Absolutely, we can do this! I will design workouts that are suitable for you and your ability. I will customize it for you, but you’ll have to make sure that you do exactly what I tell you regarding exercise and food”.

Chris is that rare trainer who is exceedingly responsive and knows how to meet his clients at their energy level: both physically and psychologically. Regardless of my energy level, he’s able to meet me where I am. As an extreme introvert, it can be difficult for me to be around people. Chris’s ability to stay flexible with his energy makes it easy for me to open up and express my needs without stress.

The workouts that Chris designs are not easy: they’re challenging and ever-changing. He’s able to work the same group of muscles in different ways without shocking your body and he’s big on teaching you proper form. You’ll leave feeling wiser and feeling stronger every day.

To say that I got a Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, Physical therapist, Psychiatrist, and Friend in a single bundle would be an understatement.

When I first met Chris, he said "We can do this!" - AND NOW WE HAVE! I have only 5 lbs. to lose until I reach my goal.

“I first began training with Chris in March 2021. I was months away from turning 40 and was the heaviest I had ever been. During our first session Chris listened to my goals (lose the weight) and history with health and fitness, evaluated my level of movement, and used that information to set me on a path of success. Chris helped me understand what to look for as I meal planned and tracked my daily food intake, he explained the importance of being in my target heart rate zone during cardio, and what supplements would help my overall health. Workouts with Chris are phenomenal, such a variety of routines and exercises! I was so new to working out at a gym and I had a huge fear of doing movements wrong and using equipment incorrectly. I asked questions about every exercise. Chris was amazing about demonstrating exercises and explaining them, so I understood how to correct my form and activate the target muscles while avoiding injury. He set me up for successful independent workouts on non-training days. My favorite thing about Chris’ workouts is that he is continuously growing his knowledge of fitness; I enjoy hearing “I’ve got a new movement you’re going love!”, because I know I am going to have a great workout. I believe I got results because Chris not only understands personal training, but he also understands motivation. When you feel like you cannot keep going, Chris will encourage you to finish strong. No matter what your fitness goals, I am certain that Chris Haddock will be more than able to help you get there. Please know that I give him my highest ratings and will happily continue to train with him myself. Everyday is an “Easy Day” with Chris in your corner!”

I signed up for the gym because I had been trying on my own to loss weight for over a year and I was still the same way, tired all the time, tired of taking hours to find something to wear as nothing could fit or looked good because of my size, unable to play with my kids without puffing and puffing.

It was time to make the change. Chris being my trainer, my life has changed, my health has changed. Now I can do so many things that I couldn't do before  I am confident in my looks, I am proud of myself with how strong am becoming. I am looking forward to the person am becoming.

When I first started I did not know how to use the gym equipment's. Chris has helped me with that, he continues to guide me on how to use them with the correct form. The gym feels like a family. From the front desk to the trainers you feel welcomed, no judgment at all. I was so intimidated the first time but the team at the gym made me feel welcomed, no matter what my fitness level was at that time. They are amazing .

I have learnt and continue to learn from Chris in every session. The first month he taught me about nutrition, I learnt but did not implement. After a month of me doing my own things, I lost only one pound. He didn't give up on me but sat me down, we went thru what I was doing and found I was not tracking my food. Frustrated for only loosing one pound, I was ready to change my thinking. I asked my sister to join the gym so that we can do this together. My husband joined too. As a family We all started to use my fitness pal and working out. My sister has lost 28 pounds, I have lost over 30 pounds.

I am grateful Chris is my trainer. He challenged me, encouraged me when I felt I couldn't do it. He listens and makes the workouts in ways I will understand ( English being not my first language). He has had to explain a workout several times in several ways but he has never showed impatience or frustrations. He makes the workouts fun. I have met some amazing people at the gym .

For me its a lifestyle for the rest of my life and am glad to be in the NWFITCO family .

I decided to start my fitness journey, and new lifestyle, after I gained close to 70 pounds of relationship weight. I hated the way I looked so much that I didn’t want to see myself in the mirror or even in pictures. At this point, I decided to sign up at Northwest Fitness to change my entire life around. The gym set me up with a personal trainer, Chris, and scheduled me for my initial inbody scan with him.  When I showed up for my appointment, I was extremely nervous because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Here, Chris and I talked about my reasons for wanting to join the gym and my goals. I felt a little intimidated as I did not know much about supplements, nutrition, or working out. But Chris didn’t hesitate to break everything down for me in a simple way I could understand and create a routine I could easily follow.

When it came time for our second weigh in about a month later, I had gained weight. I was so worried Chris was going to be disappointed in me because I didn’t make any progress. But instead, Chris talked to me about the ups and downs of the fitness journey rollercoaster. Chris and I examined everything that I was doing in and outside the gym to develop a new plan to make progress going forward. He taught me how to correctly track my food and macros and told me how to split up my workouts. After this, I knew I needed Chris in my journey. He was the one to believe in me and push me when I couldn’t do it for myself.

I decided to sign up for sessions to train with Chris one on one, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Chris is filled with so much knowledge about workouts and nutrition, and I was lucky enough to have the knowledge shared with me. Not only did Chris teach the physical aspect of fitness, but he stressed the importance of the mental part of the game. Chris always made sure each session was fun and that it pushed me to my highest potential. There are some things I have achieved with Chris that I would have never pushed myself to even attempt if I was on this journey without him.

I now live 4 hours from Northwest Fitness and Chris, but because of the knowledge he shared with me I can continue to workout and nourish my body effectively despite no longer having the continuous check ins. Most importantly, even though I only see Chris once a month I feel his dedication and support to my goals every day. I never feel like I can't reach out to him for help whether it's gym related or not.

At the very beginning of this journey, I was looking to not only improve myself physically, and mentally but I also wanted to rebuild my foundation of self-love and confidence. Since then, I have lost 30 pounds and counting. Training with Chris has substantially pushed me closer to these goals. I now have the confidence to try new workouts, and the discipline to show up for myself. Additionally, I have the fitness knowledge supplied to me by Chris to continuously progress. My journey is far from over, but I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of Chris and his training, and I am forever grateful for him.

In November 2019, I decided to add "Begin physical training" to my list of overall health goals - I'd received an inaccurate diagnosis when I was 8 years old and I was trying to get back on track after years of looking in the wrong direction. 7 years ago, I thought I would have to go on Disability because my daily pain was so excruciating. Prior to working with Chris, my doctor had communicated that lifelong palliative care would cost about $10,000 - A YEAR. This is after my husband and I had already spent at least $75,000 attempting to get my health in order.  Instead of shelling out for co-pays as usual, I spent that money on personal training instead. I am so very grateful that I chose not to let "scarcity thinking" hold me back.

I couldn’t be more happy with the results I have gotten from personal training. The overall key for me has been learning where my muscles are and how to activate them in daily movements - carrying my bodyweight incorrectly has been the source of a lot of my pain. You shouldn't be overly utilizing your joints or compensating in order to move throughout the day. No wonder so many people walk around in pain and can't get restful sleep as a result!

Most people don't have to learn how to use their muscles from scratch like I did, but many people have areas where they could save themselves a lot of pain if they stopped to learn a little bit about their body. I hope my story can encourage others, help them see the educational side of physical training, and help them be kinder to themselves.

I have someone who truly wants to see me succeed in all areas of life - not just physically. He really gets the "mindset" piece: our thoughts can either empower us or defeat us. I no longer have to focus on "surviving" until the pain hits again. I can now clearly communicate with my doctors about what may have been missed or needs adjustment! Thank you Chris for all you do - on behalf of the many lives you have and will continue to change in your career! You rock!

My journey at Northwest Fit Co began with a simple walkthrough of the facility. As a couple, my girlfriend and I decided that it was time to better ourselves: not only physically but mentally as well. I had a very negative view of myself and I knew it was time for change. So on that day we became members of NWFITCO.

As time progressed, it came time for my first free session with my trainer. I was so stressed going into the unknown. It came time and out comes this tall bearded hunk of muscle with a air of command about him that just hooked you in. With this introduction, almost immediately it was down to business. He asked me and I remember this so vividly “What are your goals?”. I know that seems bland but that question began a deep dive into body fat percentage, different lifting styles and techniques, my motivation, and my likes and interests. I could immediately see the knowledge and care that Chris had for his clients: this was from just one free training session. The session went smoothly and I went home after we had finished up.

As my journey at the gym continued, I caught wind of personal training. At the time I had just started a new job so money was the only question in this purchase. However, with some coaxing from my girlfriend who had also bought sessions, I made the decision to buy 24(1 hour) workouts with this man who I barely knew. I can whole heartedly say that this was one of the best decisions I have made in a very long time.

In our first session, Chris laid it all out on the table. The amount of depth that was put into this first session was just insane: nutrition, supplementation, the structure of the body and muscle groups that work in tandem with each-other, it was all covered. The knowledge that this man has about the overall “fitness” journey really stuck out to me. This is only a part of what I really love about working out with Chris though. Chris and I are on our second bundle of sessions together and a big part the thing that keeps me coming back is the types of workouts we do. I believe it’s called Olympic style lifts with squat, deadlift, and bench press being the main compound movements of this style.

The main reason Chris's workouts are so important to me is the ease it’s brought into my job. I work at a shipping company which at times can be pretty hardcore, supplying Alaska with materials. I carry and lift boxes, couches, carpets, tires all which can weigh upwards of 150 pounds piece  sometimes. With the movements that Chris has pieced together and had me complete in our workouts, my job has became so much easier though. I can outwork my peers just because of the sheer strength and techniques all which were passed on from mentor to student. At this point, Chris isn’t only someone I would consider a friend but the best trainer someone could ask for.

I joined  on June 1st and that started my weight loss journey. At 307 lbs I couldn't breathe walking up the stairs, I waddled, I was always exhausted.  I ate cookies, cupcakes, potatoes, bread etc...working in the medical field I see what eating unhealthy can do to you and I didn't want that to happen to me and I didn't want my children to lose me before my time. The first gyft I joined I lost 30 lbs, between gyfts only lost 5 then the 2nd gyft was only 2 months but I lost another 13. Over the holidays I have lost a few more, so total is 53 lbs and I plan on joining the next one. I'm unable to pay for training or else I would have lost more. The team here at Northwest are super supportive and I met a lot of people here that are awesome and motivating. Also Chris H is my trainer during gyft and he is amazing and hard-core. Thank you Northwest Fit for helping me in a healthier, happier new me!!!!

Brycen G.

I started going to Northwest Fitness Company with the goal of getting a trainer and beginning my fitness journey. I have always been very active but I have never consistently followed a workout plan or tracked what I eat. After college I realized that my days of remaining fit despite eating and working out only when I felt like it, were over. My new goal for myself was either to become "show ready" or to enter a power lifting competition. I wanted be fit and to look fit.

I also had a new driving force in my life: getting hired as a firefighter. I needed to be the fittest I'd ever been, not for myself but for the people that I would be serving. Growing up, I never learned the things required to stay fit and healthy. That's where Chris came in. Chris has been training me for about 8 months. In these 8 months I have learned more than I ever would have thought possible, plus, I've increased my strength and endurance in all aspects. I have gained energy, an understanding of how the body moves, how to lift properly, and the basic knowledge of nutrition necessary to meet my goals.

Chris does a great job as a trainer because he is knowledgeable and personal, which allows him to understand what you (specifically) need. Chris does not go by the one-size-fits-all approach and realizes that everyone has different goals. He will push you when you need to be pushed but is also very compassionate and understanding.

I'd recommend Chris as a trainer to anyone - he has a ton to offer, regardless of your experience level. Chris has done bodybuilding, weight loss, cross fit, power-lifting and more. He will give you the resources you need to be successful and then it's simply up to you to execute.

I look forward to more training with Chris and continued success with my fitness goals!

When you’re in the military people think you are in tip top shape since we do PT every day. Sure we may be in better shape than the average American, but I wanted to be even better than that so I joined Northwest Fitness Co and asked for a personal trainer. I first met Chris because he stepped in for another personal trainer that I had at the time. We had no other interaction before that day but it was like he already knew me. I could tell he wanted the best for me and that he was a good match for me because he immediately called me out on me trying to cheat myself by lifting lighter weight then I could handle. He pushed me and challenged me which is what I needed, so I ended up switching to having
Chris as my personal trainer full time.

Since being with Chris I have won the GYFT challenge for female to gain the most muscle and have gotten in the best shape of my life. I have had literal bruises, sweat, and tears with Chris and he has been there for me every step of the way. I have reached goals I didn’t know were possible and I am more confident with myself than I have ever been. He has taught me all I needed to know about proper form and given me recommendations on nutrition to make sure I accomplish my goals. I would 100% recommend Chris to anyone I know. He’s definitely not for the weak of heart or the weak of mind but he will get you to where you want to be.

I began training with Chris Haddock in August of 2021. I was recovering from a broken right clavicle. I began at almost 270lb. Chris is very knowledgeable with injury recovery. I start training with him every week. He is very detailed and a great teacher. He supports both your physical well being and your nutritional needs. In six months I lost 40 lb of fat and was still able to gain muscle. He personally designed a workout program for me. He taught me perfect technique. I am now educated on how to correctly take care of my whole body. I have had trainers in the past and none gave the education and support of this gentleman. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone.

After a physical where my weight & cholesterol were both far from optimal, I met with Chris. He asked what I was going to do different & was I willing to finally listen to him & track everything I put into my mouth (exercise alone wasn’t working). Chris set up clear boundaries for me on my phone-calories/fat/sugar/carbs/protein & encouraged me every step of the way. He had meal tips, exercise & form instruction & cheered me through 11 months (so far) of “listening to him”.
I am currently down 38 pounds of fat. My cholesterol has decreased from 250 to 160. My BMI, visceral fat level, & weight are at normal levels & my muscle mass has increased.
At 51, I have more energy & look forward to going to the gym.
My keys to success are: GREAT trainer & gym, family support, & faith.
Thanks Chris!!
